Alumna Rhondda Thomas has been named the Calhoun Lemon Professor of Literature at Clemson University, where she is an associate professor in the Department of English. She was also awarded a 2018 Whiting Public Engagement Fellowship for her project, "Black Clemson: From Enslavement to Integration." This project expands on her ongoing project, Call My Name, which has digitized over 2,000 primary documents related to Clemson's early history.
Dr. Rhondda Thomas recieved her PhD in English from University of Maryland and has worked at Clemson University for over ten years. Her academic focus is in 18th & 19th Century African American and American Literature.
